What a jerk. Some ministers are narcissists who gravitate to church leadership because they crave admiration and couldn't cut it in the real world. Is there some structure for accountability in your church? I agree you should at least consider warning someone about this guy. I say consider because we all know how people venerate pastors and there's a good chance no one will believe you, then you'll be on the shitlist instead of him.
At least you know to stay the hell away from him.

It's from the past, but I can tell you between him and other experiences I had with other "respectable" types, I came to know that we are all the same, and just because someone is a minister, or doctor, or an authority figure does not mean they can be trusted.

Car, I tried to respond with essentially the same comment as flashjohn did. I know this was long ago, but it's important that these fellows are removed from ministry.

@carissimi did agree to post this, and I agreed to respond. I had a date with a girl I had been fixed up with one Friday night. Right before I was leaving to get her, she called me and said she had a friend that wanted to go out as well, and asked if I had a friend I could bring along and make it a double date. My future business partner was in town on sales calls, so I suggested he not fly back home just yet, because I had a date for him! He agreed. We all met at a little coffee/sandwich shop in a trendy part of town. The girls were both BEAUTIFUL, and I thought my date was perfect for me. But my friend was a huge (6'6") college athlete and his date was a very athletic 5'1". So, I figured they weren't such a great match. I was in high spirits that evening and for me, it was one of the best dates I ever had. But we decided to go to a movie, and I selected "Lawnmower Man" against the womens' suggestions of "Basic Instinct". For the younger members of our group, this was in 1992: Lawn Mowerman: www.imdb.com/title/tt0104692/Basic Instinct: www.imdb.com/title/tt0103772/Early the next morning my date calls me -- Now, I'm totally stoked!!! "Creel, Barbi wants to call John, can you give me his number?" "Sure! Let's get some breakfast and make a day out of it!!" No, I never saw her again. But my buddy now had a friend for life every time he visited that city.

In college, my friend's girlfriend called me telling me that one of her friends was in town and asked if we could all get together for a mid-week double date. She assured me this woman was lots of fun and I would like her.
We met up at Chi Chi's and made the most of Margaritaville. This girl WAS a hoot, and before long, she had me competing with her in a contest of how much re-fried bean dip we could put in our mouths without choking.
When I was going for the record, this chick cracked a joke and made a buffoonerific face which made me laugh and I blew the whole mess all over the restaurant -- and her. She was mortified, but agreed that it was her fault. I was told that she was picking re-fried beans out of her purse for the next year.

Ok, just a quick story...
When I was in college, I had been flirting with a girl I had met. I asked her out for dinner. We had a wonderful time, and afterwards we went back to my apartment. There, we watched TV & started kissing on the couch. Then the heavy petting started, so we moved to the bedroom. All of her clothes came off and we went into more heavy petting. She even gave me a blowjob, but not to completion. It was obvious that she wanted to fuck. I, however, wanted to be a gentleman and did not take advantage because I thought she might regret it later, since she was a virgin.
I still feel like an idiot. I could have had a wonderful sexual experience, but I had the ridiculous idea that I would have a fulfilling sex life in marriage. I will never make that mistake again.

Struck a chord here. I had a similar experience in college, and like you, I held off because I had this silly idea that marriage would be a sexual wonderland. My actual experience has proven very different. I had extra high hopes for my second marriage, but alas, it was not to be either. Part of the reason I dont leave is that I am not sure I want to try for a third, and be disappointed again. I keep reading about these couples that have amazingly fullfilling sex lives, so I know its theoretically possible, maybe its just not possible for me. Which makes me realize yet another consequence of a sexless marriage ... making you feel as if you are somehow defective.

Which makes me realize yet another consequence of a sexless marriage ... making you feel as if you are somehow defective. This has to be the thing that cuts the deepest for many of us. "I'm so unappealing that even my spouse isn't interested in me." Even when you're convinced it's not you (e.g., after finding this group), the frequent negative reinforcement still has an effect.
