All,
I've gotten several requests for my "lawyer up / get the fuck out" spreadsheet, and it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to point out the value of Google Sheets in general.
Basically, Google Sheets works like Excel, but is hosted in the cloud. If you sign up for a gmail account, you get this with it for free. The thing I like about it is that you can share access to it and even edit it together with someone else in real time (even with chat).
My wife (sorry, I really don't like the term STBX) and I have used this throughout the process to do everything from compiling all the "nuts and bolts" information for the divorce including basic demographic information required by attorneys, listing financial accounts, listing out our belongings and indicating who wanted what, creating a realistic post-divorce budget, etc...
I'm thinking of making this spreadsheet a bit more generic and making it shareable with members of the forum since I think I've shared a copy of mine (stripped of my info of course) with 5-6 people so far. Does anyone think this would be helpful, or am I just doing a bit of overkill here?
By trade, I am a software developer, and over the past few months, I have been considering developing an application to help people with sexless marriages. I have worked with several psychologists / therapists before developing these types of self help / behavioral modification applications, and this one would fit nicely into a framework I've designed. It is my hope that I could help some people before they get to this stage (let's face it, once you get here the "save" rate is pretty abysmal) and perhaps make some money at the same time. The spreadsheet could help provide me some more direction on what information is needed for the "leave" option. Stay and Cheat would also be covered, of course. As baza always says, all three are valid options.
Thanks!
Shammy
