The limbs of love and lust Have lost their heat. Passion's hands, once hot, Have long gone cold.
Too late to Resuscitate.
No pulse, no beat, No warmth of breath.-- It's time to call The time of death.

Now THIS is awkward...
I'm finishing a rough draft for a new post on my blog, and I use the phase "calling time of death" for a marriage. As in,"I'm not destroying our marriage; I'm calling time of death!"

As in,"I'm not destroying our marriage; I'm calling time of death!" I had to call time of death. It was starting to really stink here. Now I have to decide whether to cremate it, or to give it a proper burial. Let me know when your new post is on your blog. Would like to read it.

I had to call time of death. It was starting to really stink here. Now I have to decide whether to cremate it, or to give it a proper burial. Let me know when your new post is on your blog. Would like to read it. Put it up this arvo: Ignore the Hypotheticals.csl, thank you for the link. Although my wife doesn't fall under the refuser category, it was a very interesting read and I enjoyed your writing style. Your article gives me some insight into the mind games that refusers play with their hypotheticals. My wife falls under the category of "reactive asexual". That's a term that I came across here awhile back. I was always the initiator and she just went along with it. However, there came a time when I realized that I wanted and needed to experience more of a reciprocal sexual/emotional relationship. The more I read here, the more I realized just how dysfunctional my marriage is. It's essentially broken and there's no fixing it. It's basically a situation where I find myself wanting and needing sex and intimacy and she seems to be just fine without both. And since she never initiates, then nothing is ever experienced. This situation messed with my psyche to the point where I'm no longer attracted to her sexually and I no longer feel emotionally connected to her. We are now just two people that are living under the same roof working together to raise a child until the time comes when he's ready to go off into the world on his own. That child is no longer a child and the nest will be empty in about 2 years. Until then, I'm coping with the situation as well as I possibly can. I engage in other activities, but I find the act of writing verse to be very cathartic. The process helps me to sort things out in a way that is almost meditative. I hope no one here minds that I post my poems as separate threads. Anyone is free to comment on them or ask questions. Each one of them reveals something about my thoughts, feelings, and experiences relating to my sexless marriage and/or sexless marriage in general. Again, thank you for providing me with a link to your blog.

thistooshallpass I for one really enjoy reading your poetry. The depth of feeling and pain comes across beautifully in your words.

thistooshallpass I for one really enjoy reading your poetry. The depth of feeling and pain comes across beautifully in your words. Thank you for your kind words, merrygoround. Your joy is my joy. These poems are but the broken fragments of my heart and soul. Even though I find the process of sharing those pieces with everyone here to be therapeutic, I do hesitate before clicking on the post button. Doing so makes me feel so very exposed and vulnerable. Even so, I'm sure most of us here have never opened up to others about our situations in such a way. I'm grateful that I'm being given the opportunity and freedom to do so here. This is a safe place for me, as I'm sure it is for so many of us in this wonderful and very special place. Please feel free to PM (private message) me if you should ever want to read other poems that do not express such depth of pain. -- TTSP

Too bad such problems can't be solved "Breaking Bad" style with blue plastic barrels and acid.
Of course, if that were the case, it could be ME in the barrel, so it's probably in my best interest to use the legal system.

ttsp - and what happens in two years? Allow me to look into my crystal ball. Hmmm .... There are a lot of snowflakes swirling around in the present. I'll have to wait until they all settle so that I can have a clearer view of the future. Thank you for asking. TTSP

If I'm going to dispose of a body, I will use a method that absolutely WORKS! (thinking swamp gators or maybe ocean crabs) That's an awesome idea!!! But what about very hungry pigs?!?! I hear they even eat the bones. Hey! That would make a great Myth Busters episode! But I think they would have a difficult time finding volunteers.
