The bed is the loneliest place in my life where it should be the happiest. If you don't have a sexual relationship with her and you feel lonely when you sleep, then sleeping elsewhere can at least help you get restful, restorative sleep. It was an enormous benefit to me, and helped me "defog" and get closer to the truth of my relationship with my spouse. thanks....that is actually something to consider seriously......

I haven't slept in the same bed with him in years. The sad thing is that our kids (14,10,5) don't even know it's normal for parents to sleep in the same bed. The other day, my 5 year old daughter said, "Daddy doesn't have a bedroom." She is absolutely correct. He sleeps on the couch every night.

I think the children sleeping in our bed was one of the major first and sustaining causes of our SM.
We had children sleeping in our bed every night for about 10 years first our son then our daughter. My son was not 13 before he started sleeping finally in his own bed every night.

Yes - he slept in our bed until about that age 12 - now he sleeps finally in his own bed. And then our daughter who is now 6 still sleeps in our bed, well her bed now I am in an apartment 10 miles away. So for about the last many years there had been 1 to 2 kids in our bed every night pretty much plus 2 to 3 cats.

An 8-12 year old boy wanting to be there, I don't. Was she bribing him or using emotional blackmail?
