@mountainrunner Exercise is one of the things that keeps me going.
The place you run is pretty. I love nature.

I swear that trail running has saved my sanity more times than I can count. The combination of getting out in nature and running is just magic for me.

You look great. I haven't been running in a year so I miss it. I like the aerobic exercise and being outdoors. It feels good to sweat and be out of breath. I think my heart and lung need more exercise. If I had a running partner, especially a female, I would run all the time. One time I hid my water bottle behind a shaded tree so I can drink it after running, someone moved it to another tree...young kids playing with me. I'm not sure I can handle running up mountains though, @mountainrunner.

That's a really beautiful place.
I feel a whole lot better the closer I am to the water. The beach (ocean or bay) is the best place, but a waterfront, harbor, board walk, river, or lake is fine, too.
My ex used to say when I'm near the water, I have lots more energy and I smile a lot more.

I'm not sure I can handle running up mountains though, @mountainrunner . True confession time - I rarely run up steep hills unless they're pretty darn short or I'm running less than 8-9 miles. On my distance runs, I hike the steep ups and run the rest. One of the things that attracted me to ultra marathons was the more relaxed attitude - for most of us, just accomplishing the distance is enough. I also love the strategy of long distance - deciding when to hike versus run, when and what to eat, staying on top of hydration and electrolytes, how to use the terrain to your advantage, what to carry in your pack, etc.

My daughter is like you - when she is stressed or unhappy, I take her to the beach and watch all the tension just disappear from her body. It's pretty amazing to see. You should come visit - I'm about a 15 minute walk from the ocean! Oooooo - we can have a bonfire one night - crashing waves AND fire!

It's hard for me to maintain a romantic attitude about running: My typical route was sometimes festooned with cow poop. Lol! Time for a new route! Not to mention running is not everyone's cup of tea - it just happens to work for me.

ultra marathons...that's too wild. My body would collapse. I did run this afternoon. Got inspired by your post. Did your H run with you? I would think physical exercise would increase sexual desire.

No, my STBX did not run with me. In fact, he hated my running. When I ran my first 50 mile race, he wouldn't even bring our children to the finish line because I couldn't give him an exact time when I would be done. For me, physical exercise does increase sexual desire, but it never seemed to work that way for him even when he was working out. I'm glad you got out and went for a run - that made me smile. Now if I can just get you to try out trail running, I'll feel my work here is done!

I ran this morning in my favorite canyon. This little gem tucked into the middle of this big city, this is my little slice of happy: What a nice trail! I'm not into ultra's, but love trail running. The pacific NW, my backyard, has really nice wild places. My favorite place to run: Moran state park, on Orcas Island.
