I have channelled some of my sexual energy into the kitchen and consequently love to bake. What is your favourite cookie or baked good at this time of year? For me it the classic rolled sugar cookie cut into shaped and dusted with coloured sugar sprinkles. Baked to a light golden brown.

I love to bake. (I don't really bake for the holidays, as my mom takes care of that when I visit!) I have a weekly get-together with friends and we all bring something, and I bring dessert. It has gotten to the point that they post recipes to my Facebook page for me to bring! For the holidays I also like simple cut-out cookies, and one of my aunts makes this awesome sweet bread that is a family tradition. Need that recipe....

I put on a thin layer of icing to hold the sprinkles, a sugar high.

nancyb, I'd have to say, gingerbread. Or at least the recipe I'm thinking of is close to it. Not baked to a hard-tack crisp, but soft. No icing or decorations; simple. As cookies, or brownie-thick. And in related foods, a good egg nog; doesn't have to be spiked, but thick.

LOL, I'm no cook. I've only used my oven once in the two years I've lived here, and that was to heat up a frozen pizza.
Just as well - I hate cleaning the oven. And if I was a better cook, I'd probably weigh 500 lbs.

If we are going with alcohol, you have to have sloe gin at Christmas. There is nothing else quite like it.
