My (not so) new love and I are picking out a family gift for the holidays and are debating between the Sonos Play 5 and the Bose Soundtouch 30 III. Does anyone have personal experience with either of these, including experience expanding these into multi-room systems? Reviews are less helpful when comparing items that are both high quality. They also happen to be exactly the same price, so that is moot.
Sound quality across music genres is our primary consideration, but ease of setup, use, and tech help if needed are important as well. This speaker will be used on the first floor of our home, which is almost completely open. I want to hear all of the input!
TIA!

We have a Sonos Play 3 and it was very easy to set up. If you are happy with the sound from both then I would try and get to play with the apps because I think on both systems you are tied into using their apps to control everything. I find it frustrating not being able to play music from whatever app I want to. So pick the one that is going to work best with whatever music storage and/or services you use.
