That's exactly how I felt - trapped and lonely like I was in prison. It's good that you are in therapy.
Life is short and celibacy should not have to be an option for anyone. If you need your wife to go to marriage counseling because there is a problem with the marriage then you should be able to ask her to go. If she won't go then it speaks to how much she cares about the marriage.
The last few years of my marriage I asked my refuser to go to marriage counseling 3 times. Everytime he said NO! I wasn't going to force him. I don't believe in making anyone do something that they don't want to and that includes SEX. I don't want you to have sex with me, I want you to want to have sex with me. So the whole thing really wasn't working, long story short, I asked him for a divorce Sept 2015 and then he wanted to go to marriage counseling, too little too late and we were divorced in January 2016.

Yes I will never subject myself to reset sex again, probably will never get married for that same reason. Have to be able to end a relationship quickly when it has run it's course. Thank you I'm happy to be free.
