I am fully aware that the lack of sex is related to other issues in my marriage. It has been for a while. I'm not sure when exactly it happened but it was about the time I heard her complain about me "making her laugh when she didn't want to" to her friend. Sorry. I'll stop.

Lack of sex is a symptom of other problems in a marriage. I don't know when it happened, but I sensed a change in his reactions to me, that I became more of an annoyance and a bother to him. I withdrew and changed my behavior to what I felt would be less annoying, and all I heard were questions about whether I was okay. Couldn't win.

If I had a man who made me laugh when I hadn't been thinking to laugh .... I would think I had died and gone to heaven. A man who can make me really laugh is a treasure to be cherished.

Totally agree!

<sigh> for many, many, many years the only way I could get a reaction out of my wife (i.e.a genuine emotional reaction to me) was by making her laugh. Nothing else ...
At some point that gets thin, too.
Fortunately it has changed. I get spontaneous, affectionate emotional reactions these days without having to go on a fishing expedition. Phew.
