The old, reliable Acura TSX I've owned since college has been suffering from a myriad of expensive technical maladies, so when the (almost brand new) clutch started failing, we decided it was time to send her to The Great Honda Shop In The Sky. I've known for a while what I've wanted as a replacement, but unfortunately, not many auto manufacturers have recently built turbocharged, all wheel drive wagons or hatchbacks- so basically, I was looking at Volvos, Subarus, and Audis. I started looking at WRX's and STI's, but every time I saw one available online, it was sold by the time I got to the dealership to look at it. Fortunately, a good friend of mine works at the nearby Audi dealership, and he'd mentioned a car in stock that he thought i might like. It was pretty much love at first drive, and by the end of the evening, I became the proud owner of this lovely lady: She's a 2011 A4 Avant Quattro, with the turbo 2.0 engine and the 8-speed Tiptronic (3 outta 4 ain't bad). Got a steal of a deal on her, and I've already started pricing roof racks for skis, bikes, and kayaks, as I foresee a lot of adventuring in our future together.

Thanks! And hopefully someday I'll get to try out those fold-down back seats with somebody.

A confident change, something fun without the wife! That's actually on the list as well, along with new, larger wheels (probably in gunmetal grey), and some go-faster bits that I've started to spec up. Though now that I remember, the last time I got hot and heavy in the back seat of a car, almost six years ago now, we were outside a busy bar on a Saturday night, and her windows weren't tinted. Granted, we did get them quite foggy...

]The best value for dollar for a performance upgrade is reprogramming the ecu. Already downloaded the software and started reading up. Got any good tips? I've only ever done engine and suspension upgrades, any only ever on naturally aspirated VTEC motors.

That is one sexy ride! (I love station wagons.) Too bad it doesn't have a manual transmission, but you will absolutely love the 2.0 liter turbo!

Congrats on the new car! Sounds like a sensible decision!
My dream car - for looking sexy and having sex is a black Range Rover - I don't even care about the year or mileage. I want it bad. I am a bit of an Anglophile and imagine myself as British Secret Service.
I will settle for a whatever year Jeep Wrangler with the top down and guts all gnarled. I would look fabulous in boots, sunglasses and in my Jeep. I want to go muddling!

Automatic. I'm chuckling at you now 😂 Bet you end up loving it and converted forever. My previous Passat had the tiptronic thang going on...never bothered ha ha. Relaxed driving at its finest And on the plus side, you'll have a free hand...never know when that could come in useful I like having a manual again though. Except when I forget it's manual. That's embarrassing!

It was a foggy night and too dangerous to continue the journey 🙊
