Hub started joining me on Friday evening walks on the beach. I think the attraction is because we can stop at Del Mar Pizza afterward. It's really good New York style pizza.
The first couple of times we walked were awkward. Then conversation started to flow. Or rather he started talking more. Last week, I used the opportunity to discuss the issue I was having with our daughters treatment of me. He didn't get it at all. He saw it as my issue and my fault. I didn't let it go. Every time he would give an example of how it was my fault, I would repeat what I wanted him to hear. I don't know what he said to our daughter but she has been working with me trying to mend the relationship. Things are looking hopeful.
Tonite I was sharing the things going on with my friends.
He says, "You have too many friends with health issues. You need to find people that have something else to talk about other than health and exercise. You need to explore other avenues of interest. Look at me, I'm not really interested in what other people have to say but I listen and realize that they are opening me up to other avenues. Wow, you are really walking well tonite. How long did you have that pain?"
"About three years"
