So, after the last failed attempt at a settlement where my STBX and his lawyer refused to have a meeting with me and my lawyer, I went ahead and filed a motion for temporary spousal support and my court date is June 2nd. Yesterday, my lawyer forwarded me a letter from his lawyer. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief at what she said - after telling a couple of out and out lies about me, she asked me to withdraw my motion. No offer to come to an agreement on the issues holding up the settlement - just withdraw the motion. What flavor stupid do they think I am? The reason I'm in my current tenuous financial situation is because I didn't file the motion months ago when my lawyer advised me to (repeatedly).
I have to make an appointment with my lawyer to discuss our response. At this point, I just don't trust him or his lawyer at all, and I'm weary of the endless games. I have to believe I'll get treated more fairly by the court than by him. I can't even find words to express how badly I want this to be over.
