When I filed for divorce. As it occurred to me, from our former EP group, there seemed to be a common misconception of the term Soon-To-Be-Ex. It is futile to start using the term at the stage of wishful thinking; unless a legal action has been taken and relationship with said partner is down the path of no return, I don't think it's wise to use the term, especially when you are talking about your marriage with your paramour. Two years after I filed for divorce, my case is stuck at the court of appeal, and I was promised there would be a hearing in November! Who would have thought?! It has been two years, and in the meantime, while I wait patiently the legal system to work itself out, many of those wishfully thinking, are still perhaps wishfully thinking. "Soon" can be such a versatile and flexible unit of time! Days, months, years, decades, lives. Now that it is Nov. any word on your hearing date? Who is doing this promising? My first meeting with a mediator and both attorneys is supposed to be Nov. 11th. Just days ago my attorney was informed that my STBX has a new attorney. There is no reply that I know of, if the new attorney can be there at the set date. I look at it as a slight concern, not a worry anymore. It is what it is. My goal and hope is set on the future. Hoping yours is too!

Hoping yours is too! One value of having an attorney is they know the other attorneys in your jurisdiction, so you'll know what kind of behavior to expect and whether it's worth being concerned over. My attorney knew my ex's attorney was fond of scare tactics, so when her attorney said they have proof of unauthorized rooting (throughout the duration of the marriage!) I didn't even respond. I knew it was a bluff. So it might be a good idea to get from your attorney who this new mouthpiece is and what they're like.

As soon as we decided to divorce. I started using it on EP first, then my writing. In the real world he's just X-Asshole. A friend of mine shortens that to ex-hole
