I'm going to need patience and all the positive energy possible. I just invited my ex to stay here with the kids and I during the storm. I just felt like it was the right thing to do especially for the kids. They are young and do not need to worry about their father being alone during a storm. I saw that my daughter was a little anxious about the situation. I'm further West from the coast then him so I'm a little safer. I'm sure when this is all said and done I will once again be reminded about what a difficult man he is to be around. Wish me luck!

It is no longer predicted to get to VA (although we will still get lots of wind and rain on Saturday.)
Those of you further south - please stay safe!

Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel just arrived at Orlando International Airport He's the guy on the Weather Channel who does live shots in the worst weather. We're screwed!

3:32am EST Everything in its place, power on, winds from 40 to 70mph. No limbs down, no flooding, about 3" of water in the pool, another 12 hrs to go. The eye is about 20 mi. south ,and 20 mi. off coast. winds predicted to reach 90mph around 6:00 am. The strongest bands, are around the eye of the storm. The eye is about 45miles wide,( the center is 50 mi. to the east) that band will hit in the next hour from the north heading south.
All is well,my neighbors have there lights on, all is well. I stay in the interior portion of the house.

So long as you are giving "this favor" without expectation of anything back, I hope he isn't a total ass (is all) and that you two get along well enough until it's safe for him to go - and that he graciously says, Thanks. And goes back. You do my heart so much good, bballgirl. You are a great mother and wonderful human being. I am still trying to work up to making amends to my Ex. (part of my 12-steps) I don't feel ready, but the readiness is building. I only have this one left to do, from my original list. It is hardest to be kind to a person who hurt me so much. It is easiest to be forgiving of him/us from a distance but not so face-to-face. I am working on it. This is partly why your post is so touching to me. I'm not sure I would let mine stay (or visit) - - but I don't have the "for my kids" angle either - anyway, thank you for being you. And good luck!

All is well! Everything is in it's place! Zero damage. We still have power, no roof damage anywhere, every shingle in it's place. No flooding, the branches and twigs are clogging up the curbs, forget a rake, I'll be using a shovel! The city shut off our water, and the bridges will be checked for damage before being allowed to cross. One four inch diameter limb, about 12' long came down in the street, that's all. The pool has another 3 to 4" off water.
My backyard neighbor has a two story screen, no damage.
I will be checking out the beach soon.
Nature did a nice job of clearing the old debree from our neighborhood full of oaks and palms, ( less leaves to rake, this winter).
The news continued to say 130 MPH winds, then they would show their staff standing on the shores off the river on the mainland, measuring wind spreads of 21 to 26 mph right as the eye was 20 miles directly due east at 3:00 am.
Thanks for your prayers and concerns!
