About Pema Chodron, the woman who wrote the quote you posted, eternaloptimism? I'd be happy to! Pema is an American woman who became a Buddhist nun and spiritual teacher, something like 40 years ago. She's a leader in bringing Buddhist teachings to the West and speaks extensively about mindfulness and peace. Here's her site: pemachodronfoundation.org

A story about her that impressed me: When her husband told her he wanted a divorce, she threw a rock at him. LOL! But, she went from that rock-throwing person to a worldwide example of inner peace.

That story is what turned me on to Pema, @smartkat. If a rock throwing divorcee could turn into a peace-mongering Buddhist nun, there's hope for me, too. LOL Her sense of humor is infectious. 😊
