How about wifester- wife + sister = wifester I used to call my husband my husbro now I call him my ex. "...now I call him my ex." That's the best thing to call her, lostsoul.

wait, there were T shirts? I missed out on ordering! All my existing T shirts have some kind of message, so why not say what's REALLY going on, to those that need to know.

I can picture at a work party: Hi, I'd like you to meet Jane - the woman I married and the reason I cry myself to sleep at night.
But that may not go over well with the avoidant spouse or the party guests. (For some reason it is making me laugh, though - but I'm a twisted sort!)

Bloke, Obviously Young, Fucks Randily Initially, Ends Nookie Decisively.
Gets Into Rooting Lavishly, Falters, Reverses In Enthusiasm Now Denies.

Hmm. Playing off the word "mate:" - antimate
- illegitimate
- approximate
- inmate ("in-" being a prefix meaning not)
- stalemate
- overestimate
- inanimate
- penultimate (for the hopeful among us)
Thanks for the distraction, @lostsoul. My heart needed a good laugh.
I like "antimate." It can be seen two ways: "Anti" (opposite) - therefore the opposite of "intimate." Or anti mate - NOT a true mate.

I laughed really loud at this. I needed that! but now I'm going to be consumed with trying to think of another name for my husmaid. He insists he's like my maid because I won't touch the dishes. It's the only thing he does.

It's the only thing he does. I am the maid in my house. She might help a little with the work, but I do all the laundry, dishes, and cooking. (cleaning too) Save

I heard prison mentioned. I have been saying the being in a SM is prison!!!
I wish we had an acceptable social term the we could use casually, saying that the spouse denies us sex. I refer to mine as being asexual. (she admits that she has no sex drive.)

I did use the terms for jailer and prisoner at one stage. THEN realized I was the one voluntarily going back to the prison each night after work and handing my key to him. F* that. I was my own jailer once I saw it. I escaped through careful planning and forthcoming talks wherein I disclosed in the kindest terminology possible that the soul-killing marriage was optional and I had no belief that the marriage could be changed into "not soul-killing" so I was calling "time" on the game and taking my ball and going to search for another field to play on. I called him roommate for a time also. But I loved when I got to start referring to him by STBX. And it was a good day when I got to call him "Ex" Business partner is one that rings true alot. Co-Owner (i.e., of that little piece of paradise that was our property) was also an accurate reflection.

A business partner, communicates, discloses finances, shares in profits, expenses, loses, etc...there is a high amount of trust. I have had experiences with roommates where we shared emotions, good times and bad, expenses, finances, household chores, favors, encouragement, faith, privacy, respect, and trust. I have a hard time putting a failed, dead, selfish, one sided marriage, above roommates and business partners.
