Our counsellor suggested we read a book called Hold Me Tight by Sue Johnson. This is basically an explanation of EFT (emotion focused therapy). What to do when you've dialed it back and the light bulb just never goes on for her...? Walk!

Ok. I found one that I don't want to burn. Yet. I want to fix me. I just got it from the library and it makes sense. Rhapsodee A friend gave me this Bradshaw Shame book about 13 years ago. This was at the end of my very long terrifying addiction, after the last hospital release. I read two pages and tossed it aside; Sadly, offer help to anyone in that sort of situation, they are not likely to accept it. I know it's in a box of books. If you are reading it Rhaps, please let me know if it's good, I would be willing to give it a go.

I'm usually hugely disappointed with self help books, hence my burning comment and the pleasure I felt watching "The Sex Starved Wife" burn. Sigh. I got this book from the library on audio. I'm only on chapter three and I identify with it so much I want to run to therapy. I'm completely avoiding applying any of it to my husband. That would be counterproductive. The fact that I am in this situation means I have some work to do.

Like you, I realized that more therapy in order after starting a book that was asking good questions and getting me to think. I had found the book for my lover, whose daughter is a mess in her own relationship. I picked it up for him, then started reading it. So i had to buy a second copy. Even though the book doesn't completely apply to me, there is some good stuff in there. Once I'm done, I'll post about it.

I'm keeping my focus. I'm working on ME not my husband.
