I've always wanted to learn sign language I took the first immersion class with my daughter a few years back. I really liked it but it's been so long would have to start over now.

Question for today: What were some of the turning points in your life? The birth of my children- the highlight of my life so far. Losing my mother- she was my best friend and really listened when I needed to talk. Still trying to recover from that one.

Question for today: What were some of the turning points in your life? When I was young, maybe 4 or 5, my family went to the circus. We went early, and the circus organizers chose me to be in the opening parade. I was thrilled, but my older sister complained bitterly to my parents and when it came time to actually go be in the parade, my parents sent her instead of me. It got me used to getting the short end of the stick.

nyctos- that is so sad! I think it’s time to refuse to settle for the short end of the stick.

I’m taking a short hiatus. I’ll be back Tuesday with my next question. In the meantime, if any of you have a question, please feel free to post here! Enjoy your weekend!

Question for today: What were some of the turning points in your life? - Moved far away from "home" to get out of a rut, it worked. - Had my first kid, realized there is more to life. - Ate the Bacon Deluxe with Cheese at Red Mill Burger in Seattle, now I can die happy. - Had my second kid, a girl this time, realized how much I wanted a girl. - Met you people. - Had my first affair, learned a lot. - Started doing volunteer work raising money for my favorite charity, this is very rewarding. - Had a one-time sexual encounter with a completely selfless woman, I know now what sex is supposed to be like. That's my short list of turning points.

catsloveme, I used to go fishing but after not catching much, I decided to just have a fish sandwich at McDonald's. No snagged hooks, no 2 mile hikes up to the mountain lake, no fishing license, no driving 150 miles. On the plus side, I get a ready to eat sandwich, have a cold drink, have an extra $50 in my pocket by not having to buy a fishing license, no lost or snagged fishing lures, and no driving or hiking time. Yea, not as much fun. Maybe fishing in the ocean or places where there are more fish is more exciting but I don't live near any of those places. I hear my area has "blue ribbon trout streams" and see the tourist getting off the airplane with their fishing gear, but where they fish are "catch and release" areas.
OK, I admit I am not much fun. Maybe I am spoiled because one place where I lived, going fishing meant you brought home enough smallish fish to fix a meal for 4 to 6 people most of the times I went fishing.

I’ll fill in for sadkat today! As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Is that what you’re doing?

I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up. I suppose a weak ambition to be an actor but that is an occupation too full of burning ambitious egos for a half assed desire to thrive.
