I had to come off one of my AD's a while back, the withdrawal effects were not pleasant to say the least

Thought I had posted this already. This is a list of nine antidepressants from nine pharmaceutical classes, in order of efficacy and side effect severity, based on the efficacy chart at the start of this thread. I suggest trying them in order. If it fails to help, or stops working eventually, move on to the next. If one works, consider using another antidepressant in the same class of drugs with a more mild side effect profile if the most powerful drug of its kind is a winner, but has drawbacks for you. If all nine fail, you start getting into less well researched areas. Trans cranial stimulation, Cannabidiol, Ketamine, Psilocybin, among others. Health professionals may even prefer trying one of these four before the drug classes with more difficult side effect profiles such as TriCyclics or MAO inhibitors (oral, rather than transdermal) Health professionals may also want to switch up the order of these nine, which isn't so bad, but what I'd want people to do is question a doctor that wants to put you on three drugs of the same class (they just love SSRIs) before trying a different drug class. This is standard practice, and it's bad. Patients think they have tried four antidepressants when they've only really had two. Such a practice minimizes side effects and complications, but may produce abandonment of treatment leaving lots of plausible, effective therapies on the table.

After many years of being treated for treatment resistant depression, with nothing really effective I decided to stop all ADs, it has now been over a year since coming off and quite frankly, I feel no different whatsoever. I would like to try shrooms, have already bought some, but am somewhat hesitant to go ahead. Transcranial stimulation also had zero effects.

I would like to try shrooms, have already bought some, but am somewhat hesitant to go ahead. Transcranial stimulation also had zero effects. Would love to hear back if the mushrooms help. My older clinically depressed daughter (RIP) really liked their effect. Was it therapeutic? That was never clear to me. She didn't seem to get access to them much. Considered / tried ketamine? Not to point you to the same old train you've been on, but which classes of antidepressants had you tried? Tri-Cyclics were the last ones my daughter was on and they were miles better than any of the others.
