So, a few days ago, I bit into a hard pizza crust and felt something even harder than the crust poke the roof of my mouth. Upon inspection, it turned out to be a piece of tooth. 😱🙁🤦♀️ Among my character flaws is an excessive fear of dentists. No, I have not been going for biannual cleanings for longer than I care to admit. Off to the dentist I went with my tooth piece, hoping it could be cemented back in. Nope. After lecturing me soundly about my lengthy absence from her practice, the dentist informed me that the whole tooth, in all likelihood, cannot be saved. Yes I'm embarrassed. I have a decayed tooth rotting in my head. That is no way to live and it's my own fault. So, gah. Now I am looking at needing $10k plus of dental work. Ouch. Oh. The dentist prescribed me antibiotics, too. I now feel a lot better, which makes me think I've been rotting for quite some time. 🙄😔 Lesson learned: don't avoid the dentist! Some of us don't use our mouths too much now, but one day we might need them for kissing and stuff. No one wants to kiss a mouth full of rot! May I encourage folks to check into periodontal health too? (gums) I see a dentist or a periodontist every four months. I have unusual tartar buildup that makes my breath rank if I go only twice a year. No one tells you, either. If you see any blood on your toothbrush. You have gum disease. Inflammation of the gums can cause heart problems and possibly symptoms of clinical depression. (Inflammation is why you feel like garbage when you get the flu. Thus, fatigue.) It's crazy dentistry isn't part of health plans. Your body doesn't stop at the mouth.

I’m still kicking...it at least I’ve lived to tell the tale! We spent three months in Spain with family, which was lovely—especially because our kids got to go to school every day. In NYC, schools are still barely open. That has definitely been the hardest day to day aspect of Covid for me! I am not and never aspired to be Mary Poppins.
In good news, I’m busy with new projects and lots of exciting things going on career-wise. As an artist, that feels miraculous in a pandemic!! My husband, who is a musician (and music teacher) is also working on a lot of cool stuff. And that keeps us both happy, we are so passionate about what we do and addicted fo doing it.
Here in Brooklyn, things are starting to get back to normal little by little. I have to say that as a city person I am soooo happy to be here and so comforted by the noise and sounds of other human beings. Even if my social life is minimal, I see and interact with people all the time.
The other thing that has kept me going is exercise—really good for my mood/stress of the situation, and not for nothing, at 46 I think I’m in the best shape of my life (if you don’t include the effects of gravity—but nothing I can do about that!).
I’m super duper psyched about the vaccine and how science is going to save the day. I think if we can hold on here in the US, things will be better this summer. Then we just have to get the rest of the world vaccinated...no small task and absolutely necessary and urgent.

Maybe it is the final stretch syndrome? I remember watching a marathon a couple of years back. In the last few miles the leader was in a zone. She was destroying everyone, including herself, with the pace. Her face was blank, her eyes ahead abd nothing mattered anymore but the next pace. Maybe the same with covid. It ain't anything now but the last few miles and everyone is digging in deep to get there. I have put the sex thing on the back burner, as with the vacation thing and the eating out. Just concentrating on getting to end of covid alive and healthy.

@myartgal My boyfriend is also a musician and teacher. The teaching is going fine some on zoom some in person. But professional very few gigs. I'm a medical coder so my work never stopped though I did switch jobs and now works from home. I wish I should say we were in the best shape of our life. We were both slightly over weight and working out at a gym and doing keto. The gym closed for awhile and we haven't been back. We are trying to walk now that weather is better but both gained 15 lbs over the covid shut down. We are now trying to do the in mediterranean diet. Need to get some of this weight off. We have an above ground pool going in a little over a week.

Is everyone surving that pandemic with winter thrown in? I still say I don't think I would have survived the pandemic with my ex. Or maybe I should say I don't think he would have 🤣. Pandemics suck but much rather be stuck inside with someone who is truly my best friend and the fact that we have sex definitely gives options on that to do with the free time to🤣. We are also working on house projects. I’m so over Covid - but here in the Netherlands vaccination is crawling at a snail’s pace! Not to mention we’ve had a cold, wet and windy spring; snow and hail. But! Yesterday we got to dance! The dance studio where we take lessons put up some big tents in the parking lot. Corona proof dancing, chatting with another couple while keeping our 1.5 meter distance. A little waltzing, some jive, a few cha chas! It was so good for my spirits! And right now - hail! Again! Fucking hell. Watching the backyard fill up with ice. I could use some sunshine and another dance lesson 😂
