Today I learned a possible why as to humming birds not utilizing a feeder in my front yard. I tried several different approaches to enticing birds to the feeder. None was successful. But this morning reading an article on why hummingbirds may be avoiding one yard but not another. One of the reasons is that hummingbirds do not like the sounds of wind chimes. The randomness and sometimes loud chiming repulses them. And sure enough, right below the feeder is where I located the windchimes in my front yard. So now I will need to relocate the feeder to another area of my yard. Out of sight of the feeder in the back yard as my humming bird there is very territorial and will claim the 2nd feeder it he sees it.
There is no rest for the wicked if you are a homeowner.
UPDATE: A week after i moved the chimes I still had no birds. Thinking perhaps the birds could not see the feeder because of numerous trees around it I decided to relocated it. So I moved it to a more open area that is still mostly shaded. That was 2 days ago. This morning I note a hummingbird feeding. Point of interest, it is a different species from the bird in the back yard.

Don't even know. I learn a lot of things every day you know, so i can't even say what exactly was the most valuable here. I guess that we all gain some experience every day you know. In diferent areas. The most valuable thing for me is that i have finally known how to do a checkered floor because i have always wanted to have on at my house, because, well i am actually i huge fan of Twin Peaks and want to create something like in black lodge. So i guess for me this is a valuable experience. That's the case

Today I read that a pigs orgasm can last up to 30 minutes. Now this piece of trivia did not say whether it was a male pig or a female, but either way I am thinking I might want to be a pig in the next life.
Also just read that a male praying mantis cannot copulate with his head still attached. If true it would explain why a female mantis beheads him early in the mating ritual....Just imagine you are a male mantis..."hey honey, I'm home...what the ......"

Cooler weather and shorter days have sent the signal to my birds that it is time to head back to 'ol Mexico. So I will be washing and storing their feeders this week.

I guess they're a bit like us, sometimes venturing out in pursuit of our necessities.

Today as i was reading about various religious beliefs I came across Pastafarianism. This is a belief in a great spagetti diety that flies through the air. There was no destination given as to where the spagetti diety is going or from whence it came.

There was no destination given as to where the spagetti diety is going or from whence it came. The Gospel of the flying Spaghetti Monster by Bobby Henderson gives you all the answers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gospel_of_the_Flying_Spaghetti_MonsterHowever satirical, the origin of this story is serious. It is a response to the unscientific and unfalsifiable way of reasoning of the pseudosciense of intelligent design.

As i scrolled through the topics of MSN I came across the article that ALDI'S will be closed on Boxing Day. Huh? What's that? Turns out Boxing Day is the day after Christmas, sometimes better known on this side of the pond as St. Stephens Day.

Sorry about the LOTR info....not worth knowing and keeping... tineye.com tineye.com/search/57d9a432fddac9f8eb22a6668ab8179e6c9a41d5?sort=score&order=desc&page=1Finds similar photos to those you find on the web. Right click your graphic, select "copy image address" Paste that at tineye.com Tineye can be very nice when you see a thumbnail picture you want to see up close. Tineye can find the same photo but much bigger. If that doesn't work, Windows' built-in MS Paint or the snipping tool can crop such pics, if it matters enough. Can explain further to anyone who wants it.

This morning as I was glancing at the international news I learned of yet another incideous plot to harm humanity. Smart toothbrushes in Sweden have been hacked. What a dasterdly deed. How could someone stoop so low as to bombard the smart toothbrush servers with so much info that the servers could not record the performance of the brushes and their human owners. Is nothing sacred? Are there no boundries? Even this most intimate of relationships has been breeched, that of a tooth and its brush.
