I have been taking care of myself and looks more since joining the forum. I keep my car cleaner and change clothes before working on something dirty.
Thank you for the encouragements.

saarinista is dead on when she says women place a lot of emphasis on good grooming. Back in college I set my sights on a real beauty but I figured i had no chance as I am not the best looking apple in the bin, and certainly wasn't a frat boy with plenty of dad's money. But I managed a couple conversations with this girl and I ask her out. We had a great date and eventually more of them. Later I ask her what had tipped the scales in my favor for her to accept me as a date. She said it was because I kept my nails clean. You never know what a woman may be honing in on when she is appraising you.

Or another lump of cheese in the trap. If only you dressed nicely, showered dsily, used products shaved twice daily etc etc etc. Tried it and no more sex than scruffy jeans. I dress to please myself now, my style. And shower, and use products. But for me not her.

I used to do a lot of car and truck repairs and dirty fingernails was part of the job or profession. I tried and tried to keep my fingernails clean. Changing the oil on a diesel engine is like putting your fingers in an ink paste bucket. I even tried the goo that you coated your hands with before getting into the greasy jobs. It made hand clean up quicker but my fingernails still had that dark grimy look. No amount of scraping worked to make my fingernail tips look really clean.
Mechanics now use gloves but when I did repair work, no one wore gloves. Today when I watch repair videos and the guys are wearing gloves it just looks weird.

As a general pointer... while self-improving elsewise, don’t overlook dental hygiene. Especially because you can’t tell when you have bad breath, and because people are embarrassed to tell you. It can kill a conversation with a potential friend, and surely it’d kill a romantic prospect. Professional dental cleaning twice a year is a good starting point, but more frequent than most people do. (I feel like I’m channeling eternaloptimism, our long-escaped UK dental champion...)

Got my first post virus check up booked in. I HATE dentists with a cold loathing. My childhood dentist was called The Butcher and my gran threatened to beat him up once after I left the surgery in tests. At college a dentist removed a tooth. There were four of us in a circle of chairs. I kid you not. Bled for a week

About a month ago I had my 1st dental appointment since before the onset of Covid19. The practice has changed hands from a 1 man 4 hygienist small town operation to a business conglomerate profit center. Prices have gone up about 15% and the personnel are different. The new hygienist I drew is an attractive young woman. Unfortunately for me she is small breasted and keeps them a good distance away from my head. I miss my big breasted hygienist.

My hygienist is about 50 and smart (intelligent) as a whip. She talks while working. Unfortunately with several fingers in my mouth, I do not get to say much. I see her again at 2PM on Monday. What matters to me is how well she cleans and inspects my oral assets. A through and gentle job is what I desire. Since there is no romantic involvement, looks and her physical attributes are a distant second to the main reason I go to her.
BTW, I never had a bad haircut. If I did it grew back enough in 2 weeks to not notice.
WOW $197 for a haircut and coloring. Maybe bald guys are lucky. Just wear a hat and everything is cool.

I just got my teeth cleaned. I still have the same opinion > My hygienist is about 50 and smart (intelligent) as a whip. She talks while working. Unfortunately with several fingers or tools in my mouth, I do not get to say much.
BTW, I told her about several posts in this thread and she laughed. I told her she was attractive and very intelligent along with being a good hygienist. She seemed to appreciate the comment-compliment.
