I am not hoarding, but my pantry remains full. I only buy items on special offer and freeze them. Hans sanitizers are everywhere here so I fo bot bother, I have a few for the car and shopping I am not hording anything but I do have more food in the pantry and freezer than I would normally have. I stocked up on rice, dried beans and meat when others were buying tp. Now beef is really going up in price also as a lot of farmers reduced their herds because they couldn't sell to the processing plants that were closed. And I noted in Wal Mart that many of the shelves were poorly stocked. I saw the same thing in Lowes and Home Depot as I was looking for crabgrass treatment, which was difficult to find. The reason given was that trucking is not available to move product from warehouses to stores. So lots of disruption still happening here in the US because of the virus.

Of course what I should be doing is learning to spell, type and spellcheck!

Elementary school has officially started in NC. I watched a couple sessions with my grandkids to see where the class was verses what I am teaching my grandkids. The 1st week nothing was taught to the kids via the internet. Only one educational question was ask, "who knows where the one's place is for numbers"? That is pretty far behind where my lesson plans on adding multiple 2 and 3 digit numbers and multiplying/ subtracting 2 digit numbers. Both grandkids are taking to the math like ducks to water. We are also doing a lot with hominids and how to know the difference in where to use each word. And doing contractions has a small place but will receive more attention as we work on spelling and sentence structure. It will be interesting to see when the attending children start doing the stuff we are doing now. The one good thing I see is the attending kids are distancing 6 ft. in their seating. I don't know if masks are required in all classes. We will see how long it takes for the 1st cases of the virus to show up.

Not heard a thing from the school I volunteer at. I assume our services are not as important as keeping the kids safe

Dummies here in the US are still hording tp. Even though every store I entered this past week had plenty on the shelves I sill saw shoppers with their cart overflowing with 8 packs of tp. And I see another thing in short supply, alcohol, the rubbing kind. When hand sanitizer disappeared I just purchased alcohol and Aloe Vera and made my own. Now hand sanitizer is back on the shelves but alcohol and Aloe Vera is in short supply and the price has quadrupled. So I will just buy sanitizer premade. My favourite Covid joke:
It is 3rd of August in the year 2039. Today is the day, when John opens the last roll of toilet paper that his mother bought in 2020.
******** By the bye: I've been using a bidet for nigh on 20 years now. Once you have used one for a while, there's no way you want to go back to TP. In fact, I dread traveling and staying in a place that doesn't have one. Nice warm water and some mild soap ... so much
gentler than TP, and so much more thorough at cleaning. Few things worse than trying to give someone head and getting the stench
of shit in your nose.
YMMV, but coprophagy is just not my thing .....

A quick use of an adjustable spray pattern shower wand also works.
If I ever build or remodel another house or bathroom, I think it will have a bidet.

I am thinking of switching out one of the toilets for a bidet, but am wondering about the water temp. A big shot of cold water or water that is too hot is a deterrent to me. I guess I would need to replumb the supply line to the existing toilet and T the hot/cold into the same pipe so I can get a warm wash rather than to cold/hot. I have to give this some more thought. Do you have an auto soap feeder spliced into the water supply?

Used to have a traditional French style bidet with a warm/cold mixer tap on it. Worked a treat. When we built my new house for some reason there were none to be had, and we were quoted a couple of thousand for the mere tap. No Sir! Ended up with a Japanese style bidet seat. Not a really cheap one though, it also cost us a thousand. Took a little getting used to at first. Advantages: the water comes pre-warmed. The seat is heated, nice on a cold morning! Press the button, the nozzle advances and starts washing you from below. Only needs a connection to the cold feed to the flush toilet line, no worries about too cold or too hot. No soap. It can also dry you with a warm air blower. Or, as I do, you can use a small folded piece of TP to dry and act as 'quality control'. I'd still prefer the French style, but this is next best.

Oh the toilets in Japan are a wonder of the modern world. I had one in my hotel room which had a remote control. The temperature controlled heated seat took a bit of getting used to because that’s usually a bad thing 😖, but once I was expecting it became just great. There was an option for water jets- you could choose the temp of the water and also the volume and flow from solid to fine mist and most in between. A delightful puff of air dried you off after the water! There was a range of sounds to choose from the disguise the audibility of your tinkling and finally a puff of deodorising mist to disguise your vapours.
My car likely has less technology on board than that toilet.

I read in India the "Hose" option is popular.

I read in India the "Hose" option is popular. In India it can be a hole in the floor with foot shapes either side of them. And yes, if you’re lucky a hose. Usually not, so you carry your own tissue.

Isthisit Well, cold hose water might be cleaner than tree leaves, a rock or a stick, that I have heard about.
Jerri, yes I heard abour some long lasting symptoms. HAY "brain fog" BTDT, maybe I has Covid, NO it was caused by something else.

In my surveying days used to install toilets with built in sprays, warm air dryers and the deluxe ones gave a puff of talc!
