Today's question: aisle or window seat on an airplane? And when you are stuck in the middle seat do you use both armrests? I've only ever been on a plane twice (over a decade ago, to and from our honeymoon) so I haven't developed a preference.

Aisle, simply because my bladder seems to be smaller than the rest of the world’s and I drink a lot of water, so even on an hour flight, I’ll inevitably have to get up.
Guilty food pleasures...
tortilla chips & guac ice cream chocolate
But not chocolate ice cream. 😂

Being tall and proportionally wide, an isle seat works best. I can put one foot and arm out in the isle when no one is walking by. OTH, I do not fly very often and I like to look out the window.
Before I go anywhere, I look at Google Map, sort of review which cities or geographical features I will likely see from the air and watch for those features. I once got diverted to Texas and I was surprised that the ponds were green in August and that there were so many oil well or gas pads in so many areas. I had a similar gas well pad experience / surprise traveling in British Colombia.
The middle seat sucks. I try to use only one arm rest.

Aisle
In middle seat you have to have both armrests. Most people are aware of this I’ve found.

Today I was on a plane and chose a window seat as I always do, although the novelty of looking out the window is finally wearing off after scores of flights so I might just switch to aisle to get a little more legroom in the future.
The middle seat person was, as always, quite large. Luckily it was only a couple of hours.

Did you pay extra or are you in one of those preferred partner classes, credit cards, airline partners, etc? I usually cough up up to USD 50 for leg room and window if possible.

javbaSometimes, for longer trips I will pay for more legroom (my wife's credit card gives her that automatically.) But I have not yet seen paying more for window or aisle, at least not in my preferred airline, which is United.

javba, my mistake. She has Premiere status for United which gets her the Economy Plus seats as well as access to the United clubs (luckily, I can tag along.)

It depends on who I am with. If it is people I am close to- i.e. it is not weird to climb over them if they are asleep and I need the bathroom- window 100%. If I am alone aisle. I feel claustrophobic being locked in by two people.

Today's question: When was the last time you truly had fun, and what did you do?

Serious fun? What is that? It does happen if or when I can be less serious. I still do things I think will make me a better person, brighten my day or somethings I like to do or know I should do.
