Last night I felt well enough to run to the store quickly and H was fixing dinner. When I came back, he was scraping it into the garbage, saying “It didn’t taste good”. So I was on my own for dinner. At no time during the past few days has he asked how I’m feeling; my coworkers all seem concerned though.
Therefore, this quote from the container of soup I brought for lunch seemed appropriate:
There are days when I drop words of comfort on myself like falling leaves and remember that it is enough to be taken care of by myself.
