So I found this on this page on Facebook about Narcissists. So insane and so true. My husband thinks that ALL men cheat, that ALL men do this, or ALL men do whatever it is. Usually something that he does. So insane how much truth is in it. I mean I know not ALL men are like my husband, but nice to know a bit more of this madness called narcissism/sociopathy.

Thinking in "absolutes" - like *always*, *never*, *all*, *none*, *everybody*, *no-body* etc is a sure fire way of running your life straight into the ditch.
Your spouse has managed to run his life into the ditch, unfortunately you went along for the ride.

Your spouse has managed to run his life into the ditch, unfortunately you went along for the ride. My wife's reason for not seeing a counselor with me is "I don't trust those people". She saw one with her previous husband and was advised to get a divorce. Mind you that guy was a pot-head who later got busted for running a meth lab and is now dead, so maybe the counselor was right? But that one experience means that all counselors are bad. That's like saying I had a bad slice of pizza so I'm never eating pizza again.

The problem is narcissists's partners believe them and choose to marrry and stay married to them.

But that one experience means that all counselors are bad. As an engineer, I can say with absolute, professional certainty: you cannot predict a trend with only one data point! Related: I can't stand when folks use a single anecdote to argue for a policy or position... again: that is just one story!
