I say check out Layla Martin instead, who understands the spiritual portals of masturbation to be Tantric, empowering, and good for health. I've taken a quick look at her site. I'll check it out further. Taken from her main page... "the way we love and make-love is an absolutely essential component to our happiness in life"But that incorporates "WE" which can be lacking for most. I do think that tantra has a place in a relationship... where two can really 'experience' each other in a more complete way, and know themselves at a more intimate level. ... ish. (had to include a disclaimer, as results may vary) Off topic a bit... going back to the demon thing... I have worse demons than those (like chocolate!!)... so I'll be okay, I'm sure. (so say the voices... LOL)

With all due respect, I looked up and read every scripture verse, including several translations, which part "is so full of shit, and misquoted?" His translation of Matthew 5:28 is totally misquoted. Nowhere in the bible is masturbation condemned. You are free to disagree, of course, but I really won't get into a theological debate. No friend, no need for debating, just discussing, learning. You are right it is a translation, and not a quote. I find his translation, that I am quoting, " the sexual thought is the same as the sexual act" to be pretty close to the scripture. Including several interpretations. Enough nit picking on that LOL!!! I went out on a limb to give my own personal thoughts about masturbation, don't know if you read that. I'm for moderation, not total abandonment, or condemnation. I also don't take bad things, evil things, evil spirits lightly. This forum is full of testimonies about them. It's really nothing to make fun of or take lightly. One example of this situation happened to me coming home Sunday. I drive right past the beach on my way home. It's spring break and 84 degrees here in Fl. Walking down the street were I turn the corner is an 18 yr old looking girl wearing a string bikini, with 99% of her entire back frame (head to toe) exposed. My 14 yr old daughter is in the car with me. I quickly tell my self, "staring at her, slowing down, looking back, even mentioning it will not do me any good. I am better off without lusting, wanting, even giving it much thought." Yet here I am 3 days later still remembering it, talking about it. Maybe that's a good thing? I mean, imagine if I was a porn addict, or have had sex with hundreds of young woman before ,that all I saw was a sex instrument walking down the street? In fact I was concerned about her age, and walking alone. Fortunately she was close to the neighborhood and all the houses off the main road. My sons and daughters walk that same road to the beach. It's the person who would pull over and harass her, that's what I see this scripture for.

So he says, 'When we imagine having sex with another via masturbation, we are actually summoning the power of the spirit realm to manifest the thing we are imagining.' The spirit realm clearly isn't doing a very good job!

jpn - she had one v-log not that long ago about doing tantric practice by yourself. I only watched it once, & haven't practiced- but basically adding a meditative mindfulness to masturbating. She's really good about women reclaiming shame-free sexual natures & she has some couples videos as well. I'm all for shame-free masturbating!

Just brings back memories of the nuns telling us that our hands would turn black if we masterbated, and, that we'd go straight to hell.
If this article were true, I would've burst into flames by now.
I will say though, that, being in a sm, I would think most of us masterbate pretty regularly. It's just my opinion, but, I do think masterbating to porn on a regular basis - (even if one is in a sm with no willing partner), isn't wrong morally, but could potentially really screw-up a person for regular, partnered sex once out of the sm. Can desensitize us to the real deal - at least I worry about this a bit for myself.
Hell, I'd certainly never judge anyone that does use porn a lot - we've got to do what we've got to do as we navigate through our own iliasm crap. The last thing any of us need is to be judged.
Now this was an uplifting post.
Sigh

Tools can also be abused. Just use it when you need it, and then put it away when you don't need it.

Wait, wait! According to the article: So, if I IMAGINE having sex with a woman who is CRAVING SEX... then I can "attract that into physical being" ? Hot dog! That sounds GREAT! Sheesh.... why hasn't it happened YET? Hmmm.... I know! I must not be masturbating HARD ENOUGH, or OFTEN ENOUGH, or to the RIGHT PORN! Boy... I better get back to work. If y'all don't see me for a few weeks, send food. And water. And oxygen. And I'll probably need more hand cream by then....

I think knowing your own is quite liberating. And as a couple, being able to be there fully for their partner, connecting, yadda, yadda, yadda... (PG rated comment today... hehehe) ... that's a wow effect.

This is exactly my sentiment. Not "morally opposed", but I do wonder about long term, post-SM side effects. There is, IMO, A LOT of opinion about the effects of long-term masturbation, which is sometimes conflated with effects of long-term porn use; while these are often part-and-parcel, I'm compelled to point out they are NOT the same thing! I wish there was a little more science on this. The site " NoFap.com" is dedicated to those who want to get of that treadmill, WITHOUT the moralistic judginess. I've only browsed a bit there. I can imagine someday I will consider working through some of their exercises and articles. You know, when I'm closer to ending my SM, and don't feel I'll need to "fap" forevermore.... Until then: this.

"When we imagine having sex with another via masturbation".
That's a problem, so,so, many years of not being with another, leaves me with not even imagining having sex with another. Instead its the quick fix of viewing two people having intimacy. Then there's the issue of unloading after several days. It's too much of a feeling having it "on the edge" for days, and days". (TMI?)
That's something I think this group could relate to?

lyn - was meant as a joke. I have put this here before, but I enjoy the tumblr account porna for women. I will try to link it if I do not feel lazy. Appreciate GeekGoddess and unmatched for (respectively) turning this into a sex positive or funny comment. Should have put this in the Lighter side section. Geez.
