My birthday is next week. I'm wondering what kind of weak ass card I will receive. Will there be birthday cake? I know there will be no sex for the fifth year in a row. We shall see. For me the day will just go by; no card (too expensive), no birthday cake (too much to make for just 2 people and sugar is bad for you), and no sex for the 28th year in a row. It's going to be a very long day, and I wish I could just sleep through it and then it would be over.

Then seize the day solodriver. Do something for you that you like and do not include her. Cook your own favorite meal or go out to a restaraunt. Grab your camera and head out to your favorite local park or to a regional new one and capture the glory of the changing season. Go fishing if that is your thing. The idea I am trying to express is for you to make it your day for you. The way you would if she was not in your life. Let go of the notion that she can ever focus upon you, it is not within her nature. You must focus on you, you must set the direction of your life.

Take the day off from work and do something that makes you happy. I have a friend that has never worked on his birthday and he turns 60 years old next year. Better yet, take a few days off and schedule a trip by yourself to a nice destination, something you will truly remember. Go sky diving, scuba diving, sailing, or to a nude beach. Or schedule a night or few days at a bed and breakfast, they will cook for you, and if you let them know it is your birthday, then they will likely make something special. Do whatever will bring YOU joy, because you deserve it! Just don't dwell on her on your special day.

@silodriver, it's your birthday, not hers. Do something special
