This hits a very tender spot in me. Too intense, too enthusiastic, too loud, too energetic, too passionate - all complaints my ex had about me. I spent years trying to damp down my natural energy, trying to be "normal." I never fit in with his family or with his expectations. I learned to hesitate before I said anything, to keep my reactions dimmed down whenever he was around. It took me a long time to realize there was nothing wrong with me except that I was married to the wrong man.

guess I dont get it. I add jewels to the crown @lostsoul , You are 100% right, men should add jewels to the crown. Sorry to sidetrack. But rightly or wrongly, a lot of men desire Cinderella, the girl who fits the glass slipper (of which there is only one maiden in the kingdom)! While a lot of women want men whose feet will fit into the biggest shoes (get your mind out of the gutter, I am not going there) because he checks all the boxes she needs checked, and sometimes as a man, looking at that long list, well, I think only a prince qualifies! |
