Even though I am now in Florida, the Jersey shore has some of my favorite beaches. My grandmother had a beach house on Long Beach Island where we could walk down to the ocean and hear the waves crash at night. Unlike Florida, the houses were wood frame and only two or three stories high. I remember the Good Humor man selling ice cream, hot soft pretzels, and the sun not setting until after 9. When Sandy came through, I worried how much of the island was damaged. I wish I could visit and see how it is.

It was rough. Really rough. Drove through it. Not the same.
How about the the delaware water gap? Always a nice time. Bushkill falls.
I could give you a list of day trips in the area

Never made it there. Spent some time around Morristown and Mendham when my cousins lived there. Unfortunately, almost all my cousins have moved away from Jersey.
