Please no worries.
I think woodworking seems fun and rewarding.

Any luck posting the pics here? I saw the chat in shoutbox and the thread on the woodworker forum. I'd be interested in seeing your handiwork (particularly the finish, which is easily half of a project and something I've not perfected yet).

So, here's my second attempt to post the pictures, since a couple of people actually expressed interest :-) The table is made from Tasmanian Blackwood (acacia melanoxylon) with the exception of the separators of the drawer, they are made from some American White Ash that I had left over from my kitchen table. I like a bit of contrast. Part of my mission was to try out some self closing / soft closing "undermount" drawer mechanisms. I think that mission was accomplished, you do not see them at all unless you crawl under the table with a camera. And they work beautifully (but they are as expensive as sin). The design with the slightly tapering legs, the offset top and the curved drawer front is supposed to suggest a certain Japanese influence. I just hope the upload of the pictures works this time. -P. The wallhanging b.tr.w. is a weaving of my wife's. It's about 4'6" wide and somewhat over 5' tall.

That looks really good. I have made a couple of table tops and a headboard, but nothing like that.
I am currently making an acoustic guitar. I am doing it in a guitar making school, as they have lots of tools and jigs and plans and I can get instruction from somebody who actually knows what they are doing, but it is my first attempt any any kind of fine woodwork and I am really enjoying it. I always liked building stuff and there is something very satisfying about making something small and fine and taking time to finish it really well.

Very cool, petrushka! When you described the legs as tapered, I naturally envisioned them exactly opposite. Now I see what you mean about suggesting a Japanese style. I've been a lifelong woodworker and recently took up metalworking and blacksmithing. Especially the blacksmithing can mix with wood for really cool results. I'd have gladly made my living as a craftsman if I'd been born a few hundred years earlier; alas, it's just a hobby. I like your shop, owing to the fact that it's big enough to move around in. We could probably bore the bystanders with talk of workbench designs. Though I wager jim44444 would appreciate the topic.

Well, if you subscribe to the woodworking forum, there's a whole "work in progress" story with pictures how I built my assembly table/workbench. (stressed panel top)

Great job @pertrushka. The leg design does reflect a Japanese influence. The blackwood reminds me of black walnut. I like your workshop, it looks real, not like the magazine shots where there are no scraps or sawdust and the tools are showroom perfect. Yes DryCreek I would appreciate the topic. My recent woodworking is a deck project at my daughter's. Not the same as cabinetry but fun in its own way. I need to try registering for the woodworkers forum via my laptop.
