I have been on flomax for four years. For clarity purposes, it does not shrink the prostate (finasteride will). I started with two capsules—one in the morning and one In the ending. Nightime urination ended but though I could get an erection and my libido was as strong as ever, I developed retrograde ejaculation. My urologist asked why it mattered to me given my age!!! I changed urologists and my new one cut me back to one a day and advised no liquids after 8:30-9:00 pm. No nighttime run to the bathroom and my erection is strong, I ejaculate like normal though admittedly less than when I was younger. Not sure if it’s normal at my age or if it’s flormax. But I am super happy with one capsule of flomax daily. I have never used any ED pill but I have always wondered if it would do anything useful for me given i still get hard as a rock.

Just learned this about flowmax, the prostate medication my ex was on. I guess he was telling me the truth when he said I was not the problem. “ It affects hormones like testosterone and actually shrinks your enlarged prostate. The most common side effects of this drug include: impotence, or trouble getting or keeping an erection. decrease sex drive.” Does the drug prevent him from wanting his wife to be happy/satisfied? If he is capable of an erection he should use it. If he still has a tongue he should use it and the same goes for fingers. If this is all too much and perhaps for some it genuinely is, he should give you complete permission to receive this elsewhere. I know this sounds cutting but when one half of a married couple dies, does the deceased insist that widow has to die too? Absolutely not. So when his sex drive died, he shouldn’t insist or rely on the idea that yours died with his.

Fortunately, none of that is my concern any more as we've been divorced more than 8 years, and I've been 8 years with a partner who loves me and has a libido stimulated by me. Interestingly, last year, my ex remarried. I genuinely wish them well. I'm glad I'm no longer with him.
