My favorite sex advice columnist and his expert guest advise a woman who has lost interest in sex after four years. Start at 32:50 to skip the garden variety relationship advice. Dan Savage is generally a big advocate for ending sexually incompatible relationships or occasionally for outsourcing when the benefits outweigh the harms. www.savagelovecast.com/episodes/695#.Xk3k23dFw2w

Point 1, women get board with sex with the same live in man after 1 to 4 years and men take 10 years to get board with sex with the same live in woman.
Point 2, women with a new partner like sex because it is different or she wants to know the guy better. Which somewhat equals new is exciting but the known is boring.
Point 3, keep something in the sexual relationship sort of newish to avoid board-em.

They didn't cover the possibility that generating novelty between two people is: 1) exhausting 2) possibly expensive 3) maybe ineffective. Pheromones tell female bodies they're with the same male no matter what costumes or disguises you wear or which room of the house you use. Poly needs to be destigmatized, for when nothing can make "leftovers" interesting. It's possible not every woman can get hot for the same guy in perpetuity. Or a guy after the decade it seems like it takes him to cool off too.

mirrororchid: I agree, novelty, it can be exhausting and with many refusers trying something different or new often causes more rejections.
.... not every woman can get hot for the same guy in perpetuity.
I agree.
