Bad parents are bad parents, divorced or not. and visa versa. Being brought up in a non-loving marriage is probably the worst choice. I feel that my son now has one peaceful and loving place to call home. I guess that is why he stays with me 90+ % of the time. He does have to do his part with me, cleaning, laundry, dishes ect. No free ride. Children are very smart and trying to make nice for their sake fools nobody and helps nobody. Life marches on. Peace

You marriage sounds horrible. You deserve to be happy. Keep in mind what to are modeling for your teenagers. Ask yourself would you encourage your children to stay in a relationship like that? I say get out and enjoy your life so much happier on the other side. Your kids will adjust. If they are almost college age you could design your getting out plan to coincide with kids graduation but if it's too far away I wouldn't waste anymore time. Just my opinion of course. Exit plans can take awhile to execute depending on your specific situation.

petrushka: Just attended a lecture on local history. Apparently the Presbyterian Scottish refugees who settled here called a 'frolic', what the Amish would call a 'barn raising'. First a working bee, then dancing and feasting.

mirrororchid: Sorry, dude. I think resentment has been the fuel for action in some SMs. It can be part of a process, eventually helpful.
