Okay, folks out there, how do you roast a chicken? After years of happy roasting I seem to have lost the knack. A 3 pound bird roasted for two hours and it is still red when the legs are cut. Temp? 200 degrees centigrade. Hmmmn, 200 times two plus 30 may be 430 farenheit.

200C = 392F 400F = 204C
Bachelors need to know this sort of shit !!
Might also be advisable to check the seal on the oven door. You may be leeching heat.

I cheat and buy a roasted chicken from a store that does Rotisserie Chicken. I just checked on-line and the information indicates: bake the rotisserie chicken at 425 degrees for 70-80 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Rotisserie Chicken in a crock pot, it will take 3-4 hours on the HIGH setting, or 6-8 hours on the LOW setting.
I am assuming your chicken was not still frozen, because if it was that will change things drastically.

Ah, it could be the crock pot! I used to roast them wrapped in foil, then went for pots to save waste. I will try longer next time, as the bishop said to the actress!

Yeah, I would check the equipment first. If you cooked it that long, it should be done.

The oven is new. Last Sunday I tried again and with the extra time, all went well.
