Hmmmm.....seems that there are spiders similar to people! Interesting that some spiders expect gifts from their mates in order that they not kill them. I know women (mostly, I'm sure there are men) like this. Well, not to the point of killing (!), but who expect gifts from men to prove their love. I'm not that type of person, I don't need gifts to prove love. I prefer spending time together and shared experiences over things. Are gifts nice? Yes, but much nicer when given because not out of a sense of duty (don't even get me started on the commercialization of Christmas...), but because of a desire to say "I saw this, and thought of you."
