Its always tough to think of new things to give as gifts. Lately, I've struggled with ideas. Seems I've already used up my "A" material. Lol. I surprised myself this year though and thought I'd share in case anyone is stumped and needs help.
I bought her a large flower box. Its 12" x 12" x 40", so it's quite large. I also bought some garden soil, and many flower seeds of different kinds of flowers. Tomorrow morning, I will have the kids use paint to put hand prints on the side of the box and my oldest will paint the kids names and something like "mommy's flowers" or something. I'll let him use his creative side and decide what to write.
I'm happy with it because I imagine that her and the kids will enjoy planting the flowers, watering them, and watching them grow.
I hope she likes it. We may be struggling as a couple but she is, and always will be, the mother of my children. So it's important that I acknowledge this very important role. She is a good mom too. So she truly deserves some sort of heartfelt recognition.
