If he cares about the love and respect of his children, there will be a club like Fred Flintstone had, that will whack this bastard upside the head in the not too distant future. I know it doesn't help the immediate pain and suffering, for which you have many sympathies, but it will whack him eventually. You'll be living the dream when he gets his. Unfortunately sometimes karma takes a while but it always comes around. Take solace in knowing that.
I'm watching that exact scenario play out with my own brother. His ex wife did the right thing and has taken care of the sons well for a couple of years. Their life is not luxurious but it's good and stable and peaceful, and dip-shit husband/father who owes $50K that he hasn't paid met the sheriff at the door the other day with a locksmith. He left with a suitcase and now has to ask the realtor to let him in to get his shit. ha ha ha ha ha...couldn't be happier for the dumbass to be homeless and having to ask someone he doesn't know for access to get anything.
It took a while but KARMA is now kicking his ass all the way down the street. The same thing will happen to your shithead. Won't look or smell the same but you'll be sipping a glass of wine on the back deck with your kids discussing all of the great things they have done in school and sports lately and he'll be somewhere crying like a little baby.

I don't know what to say except WHAT A SHITHEAD. I'm so sorry for you and also for your daughter. I hope you are teaching her every day that not all men are selfish bastards, even though it may seem so---she needs to aim much higher in the man dept than this "role model."
Personally I don't believe in karma. What I do believe is that miserable people have to live trapped in their own miserable head space every minute. That seems to me to be ample punishment. I can't imagine how horrible it is to have his world view. Console yourself with the fact that he has to live being him, and that is a horrible fate.
And of course, YOU get to live without him, which is the best news of all!!!
Good luck, you are going to need it. One day this will all be over and you may even be able to laugh about it.

What. A. Fucking. Tool.
People who make a divorce maximally difficult for the sole reason of hurting the ex....they deserve every bad thing they get as a result.
If you don't like the idea of karma, then how about cause and effect? Every action he takes is going to produce a result.
If he cooperated, the result would be that both of you would be financially better off; and you and the family would still be able to respect him.
Well, those are not the results he will get from his actions.

So sorry. I can't wait until all this is behind you. You deserve so much better.

I saw Mr. McDoucheTart at our son's basketball games yesterday. I did remarkably well at pretending that I didn't want to use my telekinetic powers to explode his head. I have to see him today because we have to make arrangements to get our daughter back to college next weekend. As long as he doesn't bring up anything about the settlement, I should be able to get through it without wanting to crush his head too many times. (If you don't get that "Kids in the Hall" reference - look it up on YouTube. "I crush your head!")
