northstarmom (and all who repost articles from outside sources): Please post a link to the original story on its original site. This gives fair attribution to the author and her publisher. It also allows those who would like more info -- or to send the link to a friend -- a way to do that. Could you please update your story with the link, placing it at the top? Thanks.

Sorry, for clarification, the title of the thread should have indicated it is changing in 2019 (after December 31, 2018). FYI: the author of the OP can change the title of a thread. Simply click "Edit" on the original post; you'll see the "Subject" line is editable. (Moderators can do this, too.)

Look. I don't like the sniping. I need it to stop. In this thread, and in others. There are two people I have in mind here, but the comment applies to everyone and for other threads.
Everyone here is entitled to their opinions; everyone here is entitled to their opinions about someone else.
But in this thread one user took a swipe at another user who hadn't even participated on the thread yet. That is unacceptable. Then a few others joined in; I don't like that either.
Everyone: stop the sniping at each other for personal views. Disagree respectfully, or just let someone else's grating remarks stand on their own without feeling the need to comment. If several others already agree with you, what's the point of sniping and goading other to agree publicly? It looks like ganging up.
Not helpful; not respectful.
Please keep in mind: there is no obligation to treat disrespect with more disrespect.

By the way, where do you get the nice pictures from and how can I add my age range here? (wouldn't like to give the full birthday to be seen, though).. Lostheart: welcome. Most of the settings are done this way: 1) click "Profile" at the top, then 2) click "Edit Profile" button. There you'll find many tabs: "Avatar" to set up your picture. "Personal" to enter/edit your information. "Settings" and "Privacy" to select WHICH of this information is shown/shared.

It's simple if you faith rules your life shut up and move on "for better or worse" .... I hate people of faith who need to cherry pick and ignore other parts of the Bible to get their point across. Be the husband or wife your supposed to be... end of story and if your here to defend your marital position then your a shitty Christian .... for better or for worse .... so shut the fuck up and move on Hey @thecelt: the OP asked folks of faith why they put themselves through difficult times putting up with stuff. There have been many thoughtful replies, folks explaining the role of their personal faith in their personal decisions. I don't feel this thread -- or this forum, frankly -- is an appropriate place to vent about certain people of faith who rub you the wrong way. Please comment on what you will about what others here have actually posted; please save your broad-brush brickbats for other venues.

I know you're not paraphrasing God. You're sweetly telling Christians to "shut the fuck up and move on." Did someone die and make you ILIASM God? Easy. This has been a very civil discussion so far. Let's keep it that way.

sodone1492 : Definitely NOT breaking any rules by posting what you did! In fact... I wish it were a rule that: 1) Everyone who wants it can manage an escape like you did... 2) Land as happily in "Oppositeland" as you did... 3) Regularly drop by to give hope to those of us still on this side of the SM!

Just a "bump" to this thread to serve as a reminder to forum newcomers: You have two basic options to access this forum from your mobile device: - Use your web browser with URL "http://iliasm.org"
- Install the "Tapatalk" app. (Info from their home page -- www.tapatalk.com/ -- or check your app store.)
There are pros and cons of each. Here are some of the pros of each: - Mobile web browser maintains more of the "look and feel" of the ProForums website; you can see "who liked" a post
- Tapatalk as an app can push notifications such as "you have a PM" or "a post of yours has been 'liked'"
We hope one or both of these will help you make the most of your experience here.

Elite Glass Cards has grown ... FYI -- this user has received an immediate ban as a spammer. In the future, no need to "reply" on the thread: spammers are certainly not looking to see reply posts. Instead, simply use the "Report Post" menu item in the "gear menu". This user's posts have been removed from this thread, and archived in a moderator-only "spam posts" thread.

Speaking of references, the best book I read on affairs is, "When Good People Have Affairs." The key take away wasn't as much whether I should continue with my affair partner, but the opportunity to assess whether or not my STBX passes muster with respect to my needs for a partner in a relationship. He doesn't. Hence the acronym I now get to use, STBX. TMD: thanks for the recommendation on this thread. I invite you to post this also in the " Resources" board. The description you have would be good, but if you want to expand on it, great. For example: who do you think would benefit from reading this? Or any other information to share.

I know this is not what this particular forum is about, but I thank obobfla for taking time. Just another of the many things that put life in perspective. The "Off Topic" board most certainly has room for discussions of significant events; this certainly counts. Proviso: let's not twist this (or any) loss of life in to a political discussion. Plenty of other places on the net to do that, if that floats your boat.

Updated thread title to make it clear we are discussing an article in the popular press... rather than this being a sort of "How To" thread.
