I have to attend a wedding tonight and I really don't like weddings. It kinda sucks watching all the happy couples. I love my family so of course I will be there, plus they have an open bar. It started out negative but turned kinda good. I got up did my makeup, hair, and I have lost so much weight I fit into my little black dress which I haven't been able to wear for some time. I looked in the mirror and I look so damn good it made me horny for myself 🤣 No I'm definitely not conceded I just hadn't seen this lost lady in so long I was shocked when I looked in the mirror. I haven't felt good about myself in a while so it feels damn good. So I guess here's to love, open bars, and a hot little black dress...

And with any luck, a quickie with a total stranger in quiet unsuspecting place.

I do hope it was a good time. Weddings are tough on me, because I do not wish the bitterness that mine was on anyone. But, there is much more to this marriage even to be happy about. A toast to you, jessie83, for getting your old mojo back.

I seldom attend weddings because I always cry.

I also hate going to weddings for the same reason and usually leave the reception ASAP. Booze makes it easier to deal with though.

Weddings ? Depends on the couple. The wedding, the dress, the reception, the honeymoon, if that looks like what is important to one or both of the couple, then I rather not go.
OTH if a place to live and pay for long term is more important, that is a sign they have a practical side worked out.

My W and I were the "practical couple" other than her dress (for the pictures mainly) we cheaper out on everything else to save for a down payment on a house. Didn't mean anything in regards to the health of our marriage.

Someone in the family I barely know got married. It was a 2 day affair. Dress price up there, Big tent alongside the Hudson River north of NYC. I wouldn't be surprised it cost $30K or more. The bride's family has big bucks. People fly in from the west coast.
Thirty days after the big show, the new brides said she was done and moves to live with her AP.

The last wedding I went to was after I'd told my ex I was leaving but before our families knew.
Needless to say, it was surreal.
It was made even more so when the bride and groom chose for their readings passages front the book of Revelation.

The last wedding I went to was my youngest son's. I was pretty ambivalent about it as they were really on different pages about what being married was about for them. But his fiancé was adamant she wanted a big production and her parents went along with it. The marriage lasted about 8 months.

All I am saying is added financial burdens tend to increase disagreements.
