Fiery - Wow. I thought folks actually liked the word association games. Point taken. I like the word association games. I'm easily amused, ha ha! Apparently, not everyone does. I don't plan on stopping the word games, but I think they might end up in their own folder, since they've been popular. What say you Admin?

For what it's worth, the most heavily policed -- and the most shockingly orderly -- forum I participate in has a rule where you have to post one time before you can initiate a thread or send PMs. That site is also a technical site that doesn't lend itself to pervs. But it also has rules regarding grammar and text speak, and strictly prohibits Ebonics by name.
It specifically suggests making your ONE post in the new member introduction thread, which everyone does and that unlocks all the privileges that I use on that site.
With regard to the word association game, I think those are actually great for the purpose of reaching 10 or 20 posts.
I'm of the opinion that a problem person -- the kind that will quickly offend someone through an inappropriate PM -- is single minded in the extreme. He's probably not likely to even read the rules of the site, and will never even figure out that he has to accumulate 10 posts to unlock the PM privilege. If he's a better caliber of offender, he may figure out this caveat, but his responses will be offensive (or simply frightening) and will likely get him kicked off the site before he even has the privilege of sending his first offensive PM.
The guys you are concerned about are such lost souls that offense oozes from their keystrokes. They don't know any better and can't operate -- even temporarily -- within the limits of a civil community.
We've seen them here, and I think in both cases, @zumbamami actually identified them as being neither sexless or ever married. What? She spotted the impostor from a thread post and his answer to ONE (or less) question.
So, I think having a small number of required posts, and burying that information in the "About this Site" thread will do the trick in 94.6% of the cases. 3.2% will be weeded out by observant folk like Z or a watchful moderator, and the remaining 2.2% will have to be expelled after sending an unwanted PM to someone.

Fwiw, I've actually laughed at the words games. I see them as fun and social, and id hate to see them go. I know I'm a "humor" guy and spend most of my time in the lighter side. But that's how i cope. So my vote, keep em. Kill the trolls.

Like I said - I'm pretty new to this whole forum thing - so i differ to those more experienced, (and smarter) like you @dan The only point I am trying to make is that the women here are special and I do not want to see them leave because someone can't find craigslist. I agree entirely! I think this site (like most forums) has a "block" option if you do not wish to see someone's offensive posts or unwanted PMs. But, some of the ladies have said that gets to be cumbersome blocking the drive by douche bags. Perhaps a setting to allow only friends or otherwise selected members to PM would be better. I am no expert either, but if it gets to the point that it is a closed or invitation only group then so be it.

Apparently, not everyone does. I don't plan on stopping the word games, but I think they might end up in their own folder, since they've been popular. What say you Admin ? After all this input, I've pretty much made up my mind: "minimum post-count before PM" addresses a problem which, while annoying, seems VERY SMALL at this time. And even then, it isn't a perfect solution since it is pretty easy to circumvent. Plus: - it wouldn't have stopped the recent non-SM unwelcomed-PMers (because they were above the proposed 20 minimum) - it disadvantages shy folks who may initially seeks SM support by PMing rather than copious public posts. So, I'd like to ask anyone receiving unwelcomed-PMs to tell the sender to stop. Then block them from PMing you. If the perv finds away around those "walls", then FORWARD the PM conversation to Admin: appropriate action will be taken. As for word association games, I don't indulge. In fact, I hardly have time to drop in on the "Off-Topic" board at all! I'm not inclined to shut them down or even move them to their own folder, as the whole "board" system automatically moves up that which is popular. Thanks everyone for your input; I consider this "case closed" for now. I'll leave the thread open for now, so others can add thoughts now in case we re-visit this someday.

I am pro-whatever. If you cannot take the heat... get out of the kitchen. Seriously? We put up with no sex on the regular. I welcome trolls! I will eat them for dinner. We were not such precious flowers on EP. I love counter-trolling a troll on a post - that should be no big, they never lasted more than a few comments anyway.
I had a troll call me the embodiment of Mein Kampf one day.
Seriously, who takes that shit without a chuckle?
It's entertaining and I kind of MISS it.
But - I am sick and twisted.
