Well, a new Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Porsche ragtop would do the trick. Under warranty. And please, get it from a dealership with a good service department. That'll do. I’d agree on the Mercedes. The rest... not so much. One can dream, right?

saarinista Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Porsche What! No Pinto, Vega or GEO Metro? Many moons ago I used to work on BMW, Audi and Porsche. Money pit was my opinion of these status cars.
A Mercedes came into the shop with a defective heater control. The Mercedes part cost $125 but was the same heater control as the $45 Plymouth-Chrysler heater control. Guess which part I installed? Even with labor and new antifreeze the customer's bill was well under $100.
Cars are different now but I still like simpler vehicles.

Well I am dreaming about an Audi E-tron, or a Mercedes EQC, or, in a pinch, a Jaguar I-pace.
Have to shake the money tree I haven't planted yet. (In case you missed it: all of those are electric cars). Is Santa going to drop one off? I doubt it. I've put my Hyundai Kona EV up for sale; if that goes, I will be half way there ... (we were not happy with that car, had it less than a year). But getting the tank filled 'off the roof' with no further petrol bills is great! My workshop roof generates up to 10kW.

If you could have anything you wanted for Christmas, what would it be? A Red Ryder BB gun, of course! 😂 Or perhaps, success in the new year for an innovation project. (Presuming standard rules apply here, that I can’t wish for more wishes; and skipping the obvious like ‘winning the lottery’... and ‘more intimacy’, which is a bit like winning the lottery...) p.s., if you don’t get the BB gun reference, you need to watch some holiday classics, starting with A Christmas Story. No way, you'll just shoot your eye out!

If you could have anything you wanted for Christmas, what would it be? I think that answer would be obvious given my membership here...🤪 Second choice though, would be a complete absence of all adult responsibilities for the week. I'm tired of everything and just want to spend some time doing things I like without worrying about home repairs, paying bills, work obligations, family obligations....

You should be able to pull your second choice off during Christmas week, shouldn’t you h? And yes- I believe you share your first choice with everyone else who is still stuck in a sm (or who is out but has not found a partner yet).

And yes- I believe you share your first choice with everyone else who is still stuck in a sm (or who is out but has not found a partner yet). There's absolutely no chance of getting my second wish either. Due to the make up of our families (many divorces or conflicting schedules), we will be guilt tripped into one family obligation after another for the whole break at different times and locations. I'll be working side jobs to make up for the unnecessary spending my wife will do (or has already done), because our finances aren't separated yet and I don't want to ruin my credit. Things on the house need to be fixed that we can't afford to hire a contractor for, so I will have to do that. There really isn't much of a break for me.

If you could have anything you wanted for Christmas, what would it be? 1. To be my own boss making at least as much money as I do now. 2. A new car 3. A woman that desired me that I could spend my life with and I could show her how much I loved her.

I know exactly what I’ve wanted all year for Christmas ( apart from the unobtainable obviously). I’ve saved the money and I am gonna go buy it. Can’t wait.

I’m sorry about that h. I hope you’ll at least have some time to relax and decompress. All of us need that at one point or another.

ScottDinTN- maybe one of those big wishes will come true sooner rather than later. What kind of new car do you want?

petrushka My workshop roof generates up to 10kW.I would rather have the 10KW system than a electric car right now. I just look and wish regarding solar electricity. I should go and buy myself one of those 100 watt kits and play with it.

10 kW, that's pretty impressive. Enough to power the average home in the US.
