"Dr" Phil again - but what was the "solution?" The whole "solution" was completely edited out and DARVO on the husband.
What bullshit - the guy is clueless IMO.
Am I alone in this assessment?

Seems like an EXTRAORDINARILY BOTCHED editing job. I blame that more than Dr Phil's answer (in this case).
I mean, she wasn't saying: "he's such a lout: he expects me to do 100% of the childcare, 100% of the housework, 100% of the household maintenance, and still have energy for sex with him." If she was, then the second part (advice starting at 1:48) would make sense. The stuff Dr Phil said to her (with nodding approval from Oprah) before that point was -- IMO -- pretty on-point, basically putting her on notice "you are sealing the fate of your marriage by imposing an SM".

Yes to the poor editing. What a shame. I agree the first half was on point.

Yeah, same here - it was a mystery blame, kinda the same thing that many of us here have been subjected to. I think that's why I found it off putting.

The Doctor seems on point here to me.
He just told the young woman (that doesn't think mothers are sexy or have sex) that she won't be married long with that attitude. And she won't.

Yes I agree on that, but after the edit everyone seemed to go after the guy for not doing his part blah blah, and basically sent him why-chasing - with Oprah cheerleading - or maybe I'm just over sensitive because of my own SM?

Gotta go with creel. Phil told the AUDIENCE that it needs to be a two way street. I think that part of the message wasn't to the couple on stage but to others in the audience in a similar boat. I paraphrase the poet Chris Rock when asked how to keep a relationship together. To which he replied "keep fuckin" And I stand by my point that Dr Phil (and Oprah) are both full of shit most of the time.

Lol on the Chris Rock, all too true. And yeah I agree also about the refuser, just would have been better to get the unedited version.

FWIW in my limited exposure to Dr Phil, his attitude to dysfunctional relationships is very consistent.
Namely, that you work your arse off to try and sort it out - preferably by purchasing and using his vast array of reasonably priced self help books - and if that fails then you wind it up.

OK Mrs. Mom - Let me get this straight: "I'm a mother. Moms don't do that." How exactly did you get to be a mother in the first place? I'll give the lady credit for having the balls to go on the show. Of course she probably thought she'd get cheers from the audience. I'm glad she didn't get any. I do wonder if the reaction would have been the same if the guy was the refuser. He likely would have received well-deserved jeers and scorn.

After all, I think he was f*cking Pamela Anderson at the time. And you are right about Dr. Phil and definitely Oprah---mostly full of shit.

This was spot on until after the husband had been given an opportunity to speak. So basically she says I’ve consciously stopped fucking my husband, he says that is the road to disaster, the husband says it makes him feel like shit and then the final part is him giving all those husbands out there a lesson in how to treat your woman? ? WTF! Rewind to the bit where he says when you constantly get rejected, sex, instead of being the 10% cherry on the cake becomes 90% of the relationship (because the lack of it consumes you). Then he says this causes the nit picking. This is where an ILIASM becomes an ILIAS (shithole) M. It was spot on but I think it’s been edited badly.

Or IDLIASMA (I don't live in a sexless marriage anymore) I wonder if she informed him that after she became a mom he would become a monk. Methinks she most certainly did not. Phil is right that she will likely experience the joys of experiencing life as a single mom. Think of all the folks here who divorce while posting on an anonymous forum. We have all waved red flags at our refuses. There is no bigger red flag than publicly going on national TV flanked by Dr Phil and Oprah, for the love of God. The lady there is as clueless as the deer before the 18 wheeler turns it into buzzard food. On the plus side when the guy finally finds someone who cares about him all he has to do is play the clip. No further story needed.
