One common factor in many of our relationships is that our spouse exhibits controlling behaviour. These behaviours are a spectrum - at one end it is irritating and destructive of the relationship at the other it takes the form of violence and can be life threatening.
Admin requested that I start this thread about resources available, in an emergency, in the UK.
I do not post here as any sort of expert; I am simply flagging-up what resources are available in the UK when a spouse (male or female) crosses that line and living with them is no longer an option. For those who feel they have no one to turn to there are charity-run helplines and refuges that women and men can go to (and take their children).
Note at some point I might "rearrange" this content in to distinct threads in the "Resources" board, and or merging them with other posts or threads to maximize the chance that someone in need will find the info.

lifeinwoodinville: I last heard from mrslowmaintenance about a month ago. I have been in regular contact with her for the last year and a half. I feel comfortable in saying that her situation remains unchanged. If you want to know more PM me.
